To the west of the “Pfaffenteich”, on an elevation, one can see St. Paul’s Church (the “Paulskirche”). On 29 June in 1863, the day of the apostle Paul, was the laying of its foundation stone. On the same day in 1869 the church was consecrated.
It was built in the shape of a cross, with one nave and two side aisles and exhibits gothic elements. The organ builder Friedrich Friese built the organ with 31 registers, 2 manuals and a pedal. The three-part altarpiece has been painted by Karl Gottfried Pfannschmidt. Just like the entire building, the altar, too, is a faithful reproduction of medieval examples. It has the shape of a triptych and its sidepieces are immovable.
